One of the largest swine consulting companies is in need of sow farm managers for their operations in SD and KS.
THE ROLE:
Manage and train employees to follow all production protocols and procedures. If unit has designated Assistant Site Manager and/or Manager Trainee, you will be responsible for training the individual(s) in all designated aspects of management.
Complete policing routine to monitor protocols, and monitor production and efficiencies
Ensure appropriate, accurate inventory management of swine, semen ordering & supplies. Monitor feed inventory and order when necessary.
Analyze financial reporting and make appropriate adjustments to meet and/or exceed budget; conduct appropriate SOAP analysis where applicable
Participate with Human Resources in recruiting, interviewing and retaining farm employees
Create and utilize consistent monitoring of task schedules for both Gestation and Farrowing
Provide consistent shareholder communication for both pig deliveries and vet recommendations
Participate at shareholder meetings as requested by Production Manager and/or Director of Sow Operations
HR paperwork must be completed on time to ensure accuracy in payroll and that the employee files are updated. It includes, but is not limited to new hire paperwork, absentee forms, evaluations, disciplinary forms, training forms and payroll approval reports
Ensure appropriate data entry, reports and corrections are completed accurately and timely
Train and manage staff to adhere to all bio-security protocols
Train and manage staff to adhere to all animal welfare and PQA guidelines
Participate as requested in animal welfare audits and ensure any recommended corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines as well as ensure all safety equipment is in place and utilized
Train all employees in accident prevention for the areas they work in and due monthly safety meetings
Monitor and ensure entire ventilation system is in good working order
The facility must be maintained and well kept
Train and direct staff to complete routine maintenance on a daily basis
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or GED Required
2 Years Post High School Education With Agricultural Major preferred
Experience: 4+ Years Livestock Experience and 2 Years Supervisory Experience with HS Diploma
