About the Role
We're seeking an analytical, detail-driven, and people-focused Assistant Director of Finance to join our dynamic hospitality team! This role is responsible for supervising the daily operations of accounting functions including Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Income Journal, Cashiering, Internal Controls, and Taxes. You'll be a key right hand to the Director of Finance, playing a vital role in ensuring financial excellence across hotel portfolio.
🧾 Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor accounting staff across payroll, A/R, A/P, night audit, and cashiering.
- Ensure all financial transactions are timely, accurate, and compliant with company policies and government regulations.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, and forecasts.
- Oversee reconciliation of general ledger accounts and bank statements.
- Assist in annual budget preparation and ongoing forecasting.
- Support internal audits and implement improvements to strengthen internal controls.
- Serve as acting Director of Finance during absences.
✅ What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in hotel finance/accounting, with supervisory responsibilities preferred.
- Strong understanding of hospitality financial systems and GAAP.
- Proficiency in analyzing financial data, managing budgets, and driving cost control.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Hands-on experience with payroll, tax reporting, and month-end close.
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with all departments.
- Strong integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
📊 Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with financial software systems (e.g., M3, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
- Background in hotel leases and compliance contracts.
- Previous experience supporting hotel openings or transitions.
