Overview:
EGS is seeking a Senior Readiness Support to join our team at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN, which provides integral mission support to the NNSA.
This position is full-time and will serve the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing support and technical leadership and expertise to Y-12 Readiness Leaders in support of the CNS Readiness Assurance Program (RAP). This position focuses on the startup of various Y-12 Projects and supporting ongoing evaluations of Production Operations through their Production Evaluation Process Review (PEPR) and the Production Readiness Re-Certification Process (PRRC). This position is also referred to as a Readiness Assist Team (RAT) member where the individual serves under the oversight of a qualified Readiness Leader. This allows the incumbent to gain experience and complete training for the Readiness Leader position.
The role of the Readiness Support position is to provide multi-disciplinary technical support to ensure that startups and restarts of a wide range of complex and specialized operational systems are accomplished meeting operational readiness expectations.

This position requires a combination of technical and operations experience and skills. The successful candidate will have some experience in a combination of conducting operational readiness confirmation reviews (Readiness Assessments, Implementation Verification Reviews, and Operational Readiness Reviews) or in providing leadership in the attainment and verification of operational readiness for nuclear or high-hazard startup or restarts (preferably within the DOE or commercial nuclear power industry). Experience in doing both the reviews and verification of the attainment of operational readiness is highly desirable and may be given greater credit over more general and less relevant experience.
Familiarity with the requirements of 10 CFR 830, Nuclear Safety Management, and experience with implementing requirements and controls in approved DOE Documented Safety Analysis and Technical Safety Requirements documents is highly desired. This position requires strong technical, organizational, communication, and team building skills along with demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills. Having project management experience is considered a plus.
