EGS is seeking qualified Project Subcontract Technical Representatives (PSTR"s) for our customer in Carlsbad, NM for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP). These are long-term assignments with top competitive rates, excellent benefits, and full government Per Diem (including rental car and gas). Must be US CITIZEN.
NWP Utility Shaft Capital Asset Project has an immediate requirement for PSTRs. The duties will be performed at the Shaft #5 site and require working 12 hour shifts with rotation for day and night shifts. The candidates will be working in an industrial site, inside the shaft, and walking across uneven ground.
Candidates will be working 12 hour rotating shifts, 3 days one week, 4 days the next week. The US project is a 24/7 operation and the PSTRs support this schedule.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will manage NWP construction oversight, as assigned, on a daily basis and support the oversight of various construction project subcontracts as requested or assigned (this includes day to day subcontractor oversite.)
Attend contractor safety briefings and planning meetings.
Review and request approvals on contractor safety plans, schedules, and other contract required plans and deliverables.
Review and route for approval all contractor submittals.
Coordinate requests and needs between NWP departments.
Assist in preparing project schedules and performing weekly project schedule updates.
Must understand technical drawings and contract management.
Will be required to acquire identified qualifications to hold position and be able to pass an oral board within 12 months of assuming the job.
Must have strong communication skills, the proven ability to form and lead teams of diverse technical backgrounds to conduct assessments and be able to clearly document results.
Must have a clear understanding of safety requirements that pertain to construction activities.
The candidate must be a self-starter, and able to recognize and suspend or stop unsafe acts.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or Construction Related Field) with four (4) years of experience or Associates degree with six (6) years of experience or a High School Diploma or GED with ten (10) years of experience managing or providing oversight for construction activities is required.
Preferred Requirements:
Ten (10) plus years in a construction, safety or project management area is preferred.
Previous experience working in a nuclear facility and/or Department of Energy experience a plus.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or other industry-specific training preferred.
