Duties & Responsibilities:
This position provides leadership and oversight as Los Alamos National Laboratory Risk Analyst within the Project Controls organization. The Risk Analyst position will include identification and analysis of cost and schedule uncertainties and risk events; development of risk event handling strategies and action plans; providing a rationale for the establishment of Management Reserve and Contingency; and monitoring of these activities throughout the project. In addition you will help establish LANL policy regarding risk management on programs and projects.
The Risk Analyst position provides functional oversight over all risk management processes and tools including: qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, identification and analysis of risk actions with risk owners, and provide innovative solutions for risk mitigation. Provide functional oversight and guidance younger risk coordinators to establish project baseline risk profiles, maintenance and update of risk profiles, including providing project level data input to the ALDCP portfolio of project for risk health metric reporting.
This Risk Analyst will identify, analyze, and provide innovative solutions to risk management and supports and promotes improvement measures and implementation of recommendations for the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The Risk Analyst interfaces with all levels of project management and project controls staff for risk management issues and provides assistance and guidance for the display or presentation of risk information. The Risk Analyst supports organizational and functional administrative activities such as career counseling.
This position requires a strong leadership capability teamed with an in-depth knowledge of risk management objectives and the proven ability to develop and implement policies that support those objectives in conjunction with LANL Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Project Management policies.
