SUMMARY:
Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, design development, and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Candidate must demonstrate 15 years of design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
Candidate must demonstrate 5 years of experience working at a DOE facility.
Candidate must demonstrate 5 years of experience working in the nuclear industry or at a nuclear facility.
Candidate must demonstrate experience creating and revising documentation in one or more of the following areas: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.
Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk-downs of the job site for engineering work being performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, dressing out in protective clothing, and environments where a respirator is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance
Previous SRS Design Engineering experience and knowledge of SRNS design processes and procedures. (preferred)
Possessed an active DOE clearance (“L” or “Q”) within the past two years (preferred)
