EGS has an immediate opening for a REMOTE with travel Nuclear Safety Specialist to support the DOE at the WIPP Plant in Carlsbad, NM.  This assignment comes with TOP competitive rates, and excellent benefits. You must be a US Citizen.
 
The successful candidate will work within the Nuclear Safety organization with duties to include: prepare and review documents and procedures; perform Unreviewed Safety Question Determinations and Screenings; perform Project Safety Design Evaluations (DOE-STD-1189) and Potential Inadequate in the Safety Analysis (PISA) documents; perform High Material at Risk (MAR) evaluations; and prepare documents to support the development or changes to the WIPP Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) and Technical Safety Requirement (TSR) documents.  Requires interaction and coordination with various site organizations, e.g., Engineering, Work Control, Operations, QA, Maintenance, Packaging and Transportation, and Regulatory Environmental Services.  Expectation includes: Addressing compliance issues from internal and external sources, overseeing internal and external reviews of nuclear safety programs, following corrective actions through completion or resolution, and assuring auditable documentation is maintained.

 

 
Job Requirements

 

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Science or Engineering field 
  • Six (6) years experience in operations, engineering principles, methods, and associated regulatory requirements is required.
  • Must have experience developing and writing DSA's. 

Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with technical writing and good oral communication skills are desired.
  • Preference given to those candidates with Nuclear experience.
  • Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus
