Gedeon GRC is seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to be responsible for the overall coordination at all levels during planning, design and implementation of engineering projects to ensure project completion in an efficient manner.

$165,000-$200,000 annually, Pay commensurate with experience

Options of Remote, Hybrid ( local to the NYC Metro Area) or in office at our Syosset NY, Princeton, NJ or Newark, NJ locations.

❖ Perform quality review of contract documents including plans, specifications, and estimates.
❖ Manage projects, clients, staff and schedules of all projects within the Civil Engineering Department.
❖ Work in collaboration with VP/Accounting to prepare invoices for Civil Design projects as required.
❖ Manage financial performance of the Design projects.
❖ Review employee progress with VP by setting goals and correcting any disciplinary actions.
❖ Ensure company policies and procedures are enforced and document any performance related activities.
❖ Monitor employee's workload and make recommendations to VP for position additions or replacements.
❖ Ensure projects stay within scope and budget guidelines.
❖ Direct engineering team in formulating plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications for civil, as well as traffic and bridge projects from concept to bid documents to deliver high-quality designs.
❖ Hands-on design assisting in the preparation of design plans using Civil3D.
❖ Calculations and report preparation for storm drainage, stormwater management and water quality treatment systems.
❖ Review and approve engineering designs for accuracy.
❖ Visit project sites to ensure design specifications and standards are met and handle any concerns.
❖ Direct engineering activities to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, or other government regulations.
❖ Provide technical expertise to direct and indirect personnel regarding design work.
❖ In the absence of the VP of Civil Engineering, partner with CEO & Marketing Director to prepare items such as proposals, staff resume, and project qualifications.
❖ Participate in client meetings such as proposal, progress and completion meetings when necessary.
❖ Prepare status/progress reports and meeting minutes as required.
❖ All other duties as assigned.
