Step into Your New Role

 

As a leader in the construction management industry, Kleinfelder Construction Services is supplementing their Southern California growth strategy with a Business Development Manager position. Ideal candidate will be based within the areas of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Diego Counties. The Business Development Manager will maintain market presence with existing clients, identify and develop new client relationships, identify, and attract new hire candidates, and maintain a presence at industry events. 

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Area Manager in establishing and implementing business development objectives and strategies
  • Identify projects and prospects and pursue such work in an effort to secure backlog for the company
  • Provide feedback on the perception of outside customers and influencers about Kleinfelder Construction Services so that changes and strategies can be developed for continued company improvement
  • Develop and implement both the short-term and long-term strategic plans that are measurable for the company to ensure continuous revenue growth and profitability, by tapping into and penetrating existing and niche markets
  • Creating and attending meetings to present customized messages to new and existing clients
  • Identifying opportunities and/or clients to achieve strategic growth targets as defined by management
  • Responsible for collaborating with colleagues to develop presentations, pitch work and take responsibility of converting prospects into long-term valuable clients
  • Drive long term company success through best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Participating and providing support to client organizations, conferences, and stay actively involved in professionals and community organizations
  • Communicating client insights to Marketing to ensure that company messaging stays aligned with client needs
  • Providing client insights to team leads during the monthly meetings

 

What we are looking for:

  • A history and mutual enthusiasm in successfully marketing construction management services within the transportation, water, power, public relations, and CM/PM markets 
  • Must be willing to travel as needed within multi-county area 
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the architectural and engineering market
  • Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with an elevated level of personal integrity
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to develop leads through a variety of options
  • Solid, developed client network
