Step into Your New Role
Kleinfelder is seeking full-time Staff Archaeologists. Positions are 100% remote and offer a competitive salary and benefits package. Kleinfelder will supply a computer and technical support for working at home.
Successful candidates will have at least two years of prior experience working in cultural resource management including California, and at least one year working on Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) projects. For this position you will get to work with a team of professionals and project manager in a fast-paced, supportive environment offering opportunity for advancement and mentorship. Job responsibilities include tracking work orders, communicating with the client and agencies, leading meetings, tracking invoicing charges, conducting desktop reviews, determining project needs, mentoring and training junior staff, disseminating new guidance, submitting high quality deliverables to our client, and senior reviewing cultural resources reports, field forms, and DPR 523 site records.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field.
- Two or more years of progressive experience, including participating in cultural resources projects in California.
- One year working on PG&E projects preferably at a lead or coordination level.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, writing skills, and attention to detail.
- Be familiar with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel, and Google Earth while working remotely.
- Working knowledge of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act a plus.
- Previous experience coordinating with California State and federal land agencies a plus.
- Previous experience with ArcGIS and Collector a plus.
- Previous experience with Salesforce a plus.
- Previous experience preparing and/or reviewing site records and cultural resources reports.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team.
- Must be reliable, responsive, and have a strong work ethic.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or closely related field required. Master's degree preferred.
