Step Into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is looking to add a Senior Civil / Mechanical Engineer to our Northern California operations!
As a Senior Civil/Mechanical Engineer Kleinfelder is looking for an individual with experience in dams and hydropower projects including hydraulic turbines; powerhouse structures and associated mechanical systems.  The position could also include onsite engineering support during overhauls of existing equipment, and construction and start-up of new facilities.  This position will be based in one of our Northern California offices depending on the candidate's home location and will provide an important role to help grow our team's engineering capabilities. This professional should possess minimum of 20 years of experience in civil/mechanical engineering with a professional engineering license in both engineering disciplines (California).
 
Typical Duties Overview
 
  • Manage multi-discipline projects by creatively solving our client's challenges, making health and safety a priority, and being up to speed with industry best practices
  • Provide engaged leadership, support the vision of the company, and contribute positively to a collaboration mindset at all levels 
  • Generate professional plans, specifications, technical calculations, exhibits, and reports.
  • Mentor junior staff and assist project managers with project staff resourcing.
  • Attend and lead project team and client meetings.
  • Support business development growth through working with strategic pursuits leaders utilizing our established local and regional network
  • Lead proposal development by supervising and writing proposals
  • Conduct site observations, existing conditions backchecking, and written field reports.  
  • Help ensure staff and level of effort are deployed in an efficient, profitable manner
  • Take initiative in collaborating with other disciplines throughout the company to develop relationships and team to pursue high-level work
  • Supervise staff with respect to engineering services, project development and identify a path for their success

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Civil/Mechanical Engineering
  • PE Registration in CA (Civil/Mechanical)
  • 20+ years of progressive civil and mechanical engineering projects with a variety of clients 
  • 10+ years of experience with complex projects 
 
This position may require work on projects requiring full vaccination from COVID-19. If that is the case, you will be required to show proof of vaccination or an acceptable exemption in order to work on the project.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law.  Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $94,154 - $156,881.
