Kleinfelder is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Discipline Lead / Principal Professional with 12+ years of experience to join us in our Denver, CO office.
Qualified candidates must possess at least a B.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field and Professional Civil Engineering Registration. Candidates with an M.S. in the above disciplines, are preferred, but all motivated individuals are encouraged to apply. Candidates must possess excellent technical, organizational, communication, computer, and writing skills. This position involves team management, technical leadership, oversight of analysis and designs, and business development associated with Kleinfelder's market segments including Energy, Water, Transportation, Facilities and Federal. Candidates with local experience and clients in the area are preferred.
The selected candidate will work in our team-oriented environment, leading the geotechnical engineering team and working with clients in all of our market segments.
If selected, the candidate will work with technical teams and be expected to deliver a diverse range of geotechnical engineering services. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients and technical review boards
  • Oversight of field investigations
  • Geotechnical design, slope stability, design of shallow, mat, and deep foundations, design of retaining walls, and large earthmoving projects.
  • Leading teams of geotechnical engineers and professionally develop staff at all levels
  • Planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical exploration programs including assigning laboratory testing
  • Being externally focused to grow client relationships and develop business through the work
  • Capturing business development opportunities and preparing proposals
  • Effectively uses Kleinfelder workflows and processes to secure project resources, complete proposals, develop contracts, maintain project records, monitor project, bill clients, collect receivables, and close out.
  • Will assist team members in resource sharing efforts, provide LPS stewardship, facilitate collaboration with markets 

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required, Master's
Experience:  12+ years of related experience in consulting engineering firm or related service business
and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required; or 8 years related experience with a
Master's; or 6 years related experience with a PhD.
Certification/Registration: Professional Engineering Licensure required. Licensure in Colorado preferred. Ability to obtain licensure in CO required. 
Other Knowledge and Skills: Superior communication skills and in-depth knowledge of company
products and operations. High level of technical expertise and knowledge of current scientific
information in specialty area. Reputation as subject matter expert based on publications and presentations desired. Proficiency in software including Lpile, Apile, Shaft, GeoStudio Suite, Settle3D, Slope stability analyses or similar is necessary for this role

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.  Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $89,670-$149,411
