Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- Experience supporting a nuclear facility and working with engineers and other disciplines
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of industry and material codes and standards,
- Knowledge of fundamental principles, concepts and techniques in engineering (e.g. ASTM, UMC, UPC Codes and Standards)
- Skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks under general supervision and guidance
- Ability to organize own work independently in order to meet established objectives, using discretion in performing duties
- Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communication the project stakeholders and other customers
Education and Experience Required:
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in various Engineering fields (e.g. Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, etc.) from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering college or university program and a minimum of two years related experience, Professional Engineer license, and/or a Master's degree.
Primarily internal company contacts. Infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.
Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in allocation of additional resources.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Normally assigned to perform work in an office environment, however, approximately 20% of time will be spent in an operations environment. Only electrical hazards and other minor potential hazards normally found in an office environment are anticipated. Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the discipline.
Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities. If someone can do light work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary work, unless there are additional limiting factors such as loss of fine dexterity or inability to sit for long periods of time.

While working to achieve N3B LLCC objectives, the Process Engineer will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner to include protecting the confidentiality and integrity of Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This role will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security. Ability to obtain a Q level Department of Energy security clearance.
