Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- Preferred experience in performing DOE O 458.1, MARSSIM, and MARSAME activities.
- Proficiency in Visual Sample Plan, ProUCL, and RESRAD software.
- In depth working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and DOE orders as well as ISM and EMS.
- Comprehensive knowledge of radiological principles, concepts, and techniques and ability to perform highly complex and critical tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelors’ degree combined with 7 years’ relative experience. However, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.
Education Equivalency: 2 years of relevant experience for 1 year of college.
Certification by the American Board of Health Physics or NRRPT is desired.
Interacts frequently with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives. Interaction typically concerns resolution of operational and scheduling issues.
Decisions have an impact on work processes and outcomes. Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to complete assignments normally result in serous delays and considerable expenditure of additional time, human resources and funds.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Normally assigned to perform work in an office environment. Only electrical hazards and other minor potential hazards normally found in an office environment are anticipated. Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the discipline. Office work environment.
