Job Description

  • Position Summary:
    1. The FP&A Manager will work closely with leadership in the development and strategic execution of several key business and financial initiatives and will provide important analysis and advice to drive profitable growth across all operations, including owning the Company's operating/pricing model. This is a key position in which the ideal candidate will support various reporting needs (Management and Board reporting) and drive corporate and strategic finance initiatives with guidance from the CFO.  The individual will develop business planning methods that can be leveraged across the company and will facilitate company-wide strategic and business planning processes as needed.
    2. In addition, the FP&A Manager will support the CFO in creating financial models that provide financial analysis and decision support to leadership, advising on opportunities and risks impacting the business.
    3. This position requires high energy and a strong work ethic, outstanding communications and interpersonal skills and a deep knowledge of business and finance.
 
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Oversee, coordinate, and facilitate the completion of day-to-day financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the company, including owning the Company's operating model with a constant focus on optimization and differentiation.
    2. Produce Management and business valuation reporting that effectively communicates business, financial and operational performance to the owner, the CFO, and senior leadership team.
    3. Perform general analysis (financial and operational) in the areas of vessel operations, business development, etc. Create financial models that provide financial analysis and decision support to leadership, advising on opportunities and risks impacting the business.
    4. Produce pricing models for Government contract solicitations and requests for proposals leading to contract award as well as providing Investment Authorizations for leadership review and submission to owner.
    5. Liaison with the Owner Investment and M&A team.
    6. Support the CFO and Owner in all M&A activity, including identifying potential M&A targets and/or joint venture partners.
    7. As directed by the CFO, lead various Corporate/Strategic finance initiatives and special projects.
    8. Perform competitive analysis to determine how competitors are performing in relation to the Company.
    9. Perform ad hoc financial analysis around historical trends and forecasts dealing with customers, products, and competitors.
    10. Assist in the preparation of ad hoc executive reports for Board, Investor, and leadership team.
    11. Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, forecasts, and distributable cash.
    12. Very strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
    13. Performs other position related duties as specified by management.
    14. Supports commitment to safety and other selected Company standards and certification.

Job Requirements

  • Education and Experience:

    2. The ideal candidate will also bring the following qualifications:
    3. A minimum of 3-4 years of relevant financial planning & analysis experience, in addition to an earlier background in finance/accounting.
    4. An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field is required; an advanced degree (MBA) and/or accounting certification (CPA, CMA, CA) is preferred.
    5. Very comfortable building complex financial models.
    6. A strategic thinker with extensive technical skills, analytical ability, superb judgement, and strong operational understanding of finance.
    7. Ability to analyze and interpret complex and multifaceted issues and present their findings clearly and succinctly.
    8. Ability to cultivate innovation, to support the creation of new and better ways for the organization to be successful.
    9. Strong personal leadership qualities.
    10. Able to adapt and be comfortable leading in a dynamic environment with competing priorities, superb multitasker.
    11. Must have integrity, ethics, fortitude, and credibility, complimented by a bias for action and a strong sense of accountability.
