Position Summary: The Electrical Technician for Farming Equipment is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the electrical systems of agricultural machinery. This role involves interpreting technical manuals, troubleshooting electrical issues, and ensuring that all electrical components of farming equipment operate efficiently and safely. The technician must adhere to safety protocols and collaborate effectively with team members to support agricultural operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Electrical Diagnostics and Repair:
    • Perform diagnostics to identify electrical problems in farming equipment, including tractors, combines, harvesters, and other agricultural machinery.
    • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to test and analyze electrical circuits, wiring, and components.
    • Repair or replace faulty electrical parts, such as wiring harnesses, switches, sensors, and control units.
  2. Quality Assurance:
    • Verify the proper functioning of electrical systems and components after repairs or maintenance.
    • Perform tests to ensure that electrical systems meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
    • Document all inspections, tests, and repairs accurately.
  3. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Keep accurate records of work performed, including diagnostic findings, repairs made, and parts used.
    • Complete service reports and maintenance logs promptly and accurately for record-keeping purposes.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in electrical systems preferred.
  • Proven experience as an electrical technician, particularly with agricultural or heavy equipment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety protocols and procedures.
  • Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
