Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Control Panel Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have the ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, and blueprints, and assemble electrical or electronic systems and components. This role involves adjusting, repairing, and replacing electrical parts, as well as ensuring conformance to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assembly & Installation:
    • Assemble electrical or electronic systems, support structures, and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings using rivets and bolts.
    • Position, align, or adjust workpieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly.
    • Drill or tap holes in specified equipment locations to mount control units or to provide openings for elements, wiring, or instruments.
    • Fabricate or form parts, coils, or structures according to specifications using drills, calipers, cutters, or saws.
  2. Inspection & Testing:
    • Inspect or test wiring installations, assemblies, or circuits for resistance factors or operational accuracy, and record results.
    • Measure and adjust voltages to specified values to determine operational accuracy of instruments (excluding pumps).
  3. Repair & Adjustment:
    • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic components to correct defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  4. Documentation & Reporting:
    • Complete, review, or maintain production, time, or component waste reports.
    • Mark and tag components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified.
  5. Coordination & Communication:
    • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers.
    • Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems.

Job Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in electrical assembly, electrical wiring or a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using tools such as drills, calipers, cutters, and saws.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read a measuring tape accurately.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to 5S and safety practices.
Work Context:
  • Work is primarily indoors in an environmentally controlled environment; occasional outside work possible.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
  • High importance on precision and accuracy.
