Job Description

Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage the daily operations of the manufacturing floor, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role is crucial in optimizing production processes, managing a team of operators, and ensuring that all activities align with the company's goals and objectives. The Production Supervisor will report directly to the Production Manager and work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, mentor, train and develop a team of production operators and technicians.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities and training to team members and team leaders, ensuring optimal workforce utilization.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs as needed.
  • Monitor daily production activities to ensure that all operations are running efficiently and according to schedule.
  • Coordinate with the planning and logistics teams to ensure the availability of materials and resources required for production.
  • Implement production schedules and manage workflow to meet production targets.
  • Ensure that all products meet the company's quality standards and specifications.
  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
  • Enforce company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure that all equipment is functioning correctly and safely.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, including engineering, maintenance, and logistics, to resolve any production issues.
  • Participate in production meetings and provide updates on production status, challenges, and opportunities.
 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the commercial vehicle or automotive industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in production management software and tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and manage multiple shifts as needed.
 
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in the commercial vehicle manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
  • Understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.
