The Logistics Supervisor will oversee and manage the logistics operations within the manufacturing facility, ensuring the efficient movement of materials, parts, and finished products throughout the supply chain. This role is responsible for coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, optimizing transportation routes, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The Logistics Supervisor will lead a team of logistics coordinators and warehouse staff, working closely with production, procurement, and sales teams to support the company's operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring that all team members understand their roles and are working efficiently.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs to enhance team performance.
Oversee the daily operations of the logistics department, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and distribution.
Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of materials and products.
Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies and ensure the availability of materials for production.
Coordinate with procurement and production teams to forecast demand and plan inventory levels accordingly.
Identify areas for process improvement within logistics operations and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including transportation, environmental, and safety standards.
Enforce safety policies and procedures within the logistics department, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role, preferably within the commercial vehicle or automotive industry.
Strong understanding of logistics operations, including inventory management, transportation, and warehouse management.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to develop and motivate employees.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Familiarity with industry regulations, including transportation and safety standards.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in the commercial vehicle manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).
