Job Description

Job Summary
Perform custodial care work as a working leader, provide guidance and support to custodial care personnel, and provide status updates to Facilities Custodial Care Supervisor & Facilities Manager.

Essential Duties and Functions
* Operates production line machinery following the standardized work Instruction of the processes under his/her responsibility
* Cross trains in all the processes of the assigned and trains and mentors other team members in the appropriate logistical methods 
* Steps in to ensure that the process flow is continuous in absence of team members 
* Observes operator's techniques as they perform their job functions and ensures adherence to standardized work 
* Coaches the development of the operators by encouraging continuous improvement
* Sets up job rotation according to the supervisor guidelines to allow for variety of functions
* Initiates Stop-Call-Wait if abnormal conditions are detected to prevent flow out (Judoka) 
* Contact the supervisor to ensure appropriate troubleshooting in case 
* Suggest ideas for continuous improvement of the processes under his /her responsibility 
* Conducts visual inspection to ensure that quality standards are met 
* Responsible for keeping the work areas clean according to the 5S's standards 
* Responsible for operating within the safety standards 
* Create standard work instructions and route instructions using Excel and/or standardized forms 
* Complete time studies for each process (Yamazumi) as well as complete ergonomic evaluations for each process 
* Train new team members 
* Assign work to team members to ensure support to our customers 
* Performs duties of SV when he/she is absent or necessary 
* This job requires the flexibility to move to other functions within the lines or to the support areas cross functionally 
* Track downtime and maintain quality 
* Maintain charts and graphs up to date that is required 
* Other duties as assigned
 

Job Requirements

Requirements: 

* Ability to effectively support multiple assignments to meet deadlines/targets 
* Determine root cause, by identifying and effectively resolving problems, based on data collection and analysis 
* Ability to read drawing and interpret drawings 
* Familiarity with gages such as caliper, micrometers, indicators, Joe blocks, attribute gages and other gages as required ensuring quality of parts is desired but not required 
* Experience with CMM, Contracer, Roundness Tester is a plus but not required. 
* Ability to learn unfamiliar process concepts, primarily through hands on work, observation, and research, mechanically inclined and able to understand the importance of datums and trouble shooting 
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel 
* Knowledge of 5S/TPS principles 
* Must be flexible in shift or rotation 
* Ability to self-supervise, complete task, assignments, and projects on time 
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization 
* Maintain confidentiality of information for all Hino and Customer parts and processes
