Position Summary:The Plant Sanitation Supervisor's main objective is to ensure cleanliness and health standards of the facility are effective to maintain food-safe manufacturing conditions. This position is responsible for coordinating sanitation operations between the company and third-party sanitation services. This position will carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies, OSHA regulations, and any food safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees and participates in food safety and sanitation procedures in plant operations to ensure company begins production on time
Manages the Master Sanitation Schedule
Performs pre-operational sanitation inspections in all processing and storage environments
Coordinates sanitation plan with Production and Quality Assurance departments according to production schedules and staffing requirements
Manages Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's) from development, implementation, record keeping, observation, and training
Conducts scheduled audits on sanitation activities and records to ensure compliance with SSOPs
Observes and ensures SSOPs are effective and validated
Train personnel on proper sanitation procedures
Inspects products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards
Maintains and coordinates all sanitation chemical and equipment inventory with suppliers
Maintains product quality and integrity by checking for irregularities and deficiencies
Ensures personnel conform to Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
Follows up with any relatable facility nonconformances
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
Familiarity with Electronic Data Management Systems, ERPs, etc.
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in science-based area of study preferred
Minimum of two years experience within a manufacturing plant
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Possesses a working knowledge of sanitation operations
Maintains knowledge of current and developing sanitation techniques
Must meet expectations on Safety, Attendance, Teamwork, Quality, and Productivity
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Must be able to follow instructions
Maintain professionalism at all times
Ability to clearly communicate with coworkers
Adequate reading/language, writing, and math skills
Adequate computer skills necessary, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Able to work in varied temperature environments (0-50 degrees)
Heavy lifting required, some over 50 pounds
Will work in manufacturing setting mostly with some time spent in office environment
Continuous movement; must be able to stand for long periods of time
