Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the purchasing and selling of non-ferrous scrap metals
Work with International Sales Manager to develop new non-ferrous markets and increase the customer base.
Grow partnerships with active international customers. Includes consistent communication and regular travel to meet end objectives
A solid knowledge of international metal trade laws, regulations, and restrictions.
A strong risk management practice.
Understanding of market trends and dynamics, pricing, demand, etc.
Works closely with our international logistics team to create a cost-effective supply chain.
Negotiating skills that combine the characteristics of a professional relationship and a well-developed strategy
Provide excellent customer focus to result in client satisfaction
Participate in MEC trading relationships through cross-functional MEC team opportunities
Understand market trends within the non-ferrous metals markets
Assist in developing strategic plans for generating new sources and sales of raw material
Knowledge of non ferrous markets and the various tools necessary to compete (terminal markets, swaps, tolls, formula pricing, hedging, etc.)
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience
Minimum of 5+ years of successful international experience in the non-ferrous scrap industry preferred

An extensive professional network of international customers within the non ferrous metals industry
Demonstrated ability to excel under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, rapidly process information and make decisions based on market dynamics
Team player with the ability to build relationships and effectively interact both internally and externally with people at all levels of the organization
Excellent negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to influence others and effect change
