Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Program Manager to lead and oversee the development of propulsion systems for our next-generation vehicles. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of propulsion system projects, ensuring alignment with company goals, timelines, and budgets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers, to ensure successful development and integration of propulsion technologies that meet performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of propulsion system projects, including electric powertrains, hybrid systems, and internal combustion engine technologies. Own the project timeline, budget, and overall progress, ensuring successful delivery from concept to production.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product development, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to coordinate efforts and ensure that all project milestones are met. Facilitate clear communication and alignment across all departments.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify program risks, challenges, and roadblocks related to propulsion system development. Develop mitigation plans and solutions, ensuring the project stays on track while addressing any emerging issues.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee the program budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and costs are controlled. Manage the allocation of engineering and operational resources to meet project timelines and requirements.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders regarding program status, key milestones, risks, and issues. Ensure transparency and alignment at all stages of the project.
  • Timeline & Deliverable Management: Ensure that all program deliverables are completed on time and meet the required quality standards. Work with the team to define and manage program schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes in scope or unforeseen delays.
  • Supplier & Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external suppliers and partners involved in the propulsion system development process. Ensure supplier deliverables meet performance, quality, and timeline expectations.
  • Change Management: Lead the change management process for any alterations to the program scope, timeline, or budget. Ensure that all changes are properly documented, communicated, and agreed upon by stakeholders.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Management: Ensure that all propulsion systems meet required industry standards and regulatory compliance, including environmental, safety, and quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiencies, and cost-saving initiatives throughout the program lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably within the automotive or propulsion systems sectors.
  • Strong experience in managing complex, cross-functional automotive projects, including the development of propulsion systems (electric, hybrid, or internal combustion).
  • Experience in managing global teams and working with external suppliers.
  • Proven track record of successful program execution, including meeting deadlines, budgets, and quality requirements.

Skills:

  • Expertise in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Agile, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of automotive propulsion systems, including electric motors, batteries, inverters, powertrains, and related technologies.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, providing direction and support to ensure successful project execution.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information to various stakeholders.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
