Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and improving maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment. This role develops and implements long-range plans to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support overall plant performance. The position ensures the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment while supporting operational goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.


Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support all workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions (both immediate and long-term).

- Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and planned maintenance programs.

- Supervise maintenance activities and related construction or facility projects.

- Maintain maintenance schedules to meet production and quality requirements.

- Train, coach, develop, and evaluate maintenance personnel.

- Ensure compliance with labor agreements and company policies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and operational issues.

- Complete projects within budget, manpower, and timeline constraints.

- Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial environment.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.

- Experience with machine, assembly, and/or facility maintenance.

- Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe industrial work environment.

- Solid mathematical skills, including basic trigonometry.

- Experience supervising a multi-skilled or multi-trade workforce.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business communication tools.

- Associate degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.

- Skilled trades training or equivalent technical certification preferred.

- 8-10+ years of relevant maintenance experience, including leadership experience.
