The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of maintenance processes. This role oversees personnel, materials, and equipment while providing technical support to manufacturing teams to achieve operational goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support all safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with workplace safety standards and housekeeping requirements
Diagnose equipment malfunctions, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
Supervise maintenance and construction projects, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget
Plan and execute preventive and planned maintenance activities
Support operational goals related to Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost (SPQRC)
Review shift handoffs, downtime data, and performance metrics to drive improvements
Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance personnel and frontline leaders (typically 10-15 team members)
Collaborate with mechanical and electrical technicians to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and labor agreements (where applicable)
Maintain schedules, quality standards, and production support requirements
Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and improve performance
Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Strong leadership experience supervising teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Solid technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Experience working with CNC equipment, manufacturing systems, or production machinery preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex situations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Requirements
Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
Knowledge of industrial safety standards and practices
Basic math skills, including trigonometry
Experience in data collection, reporting, and maintenance analysis
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate across functions
Education & Experience
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related technical field required
Technical or skilled trades training preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, with leadership or supervisory experience required
Experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing environments preferred
