Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily inspections of plant areas to identify hazardous conditions or regulatory deficiencies and recommend countermeasures as needed.
• Review, develop and recommend safety policies and procedures for the plant, ensuring alignment with Hino Motors' standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate safety training sessions for plant personnel and maintain accurate training and safety records.
• Assist in the investigation of workplace accidents, injuries and near-miss events, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Perform and document regular safety inspections of equipment, fire safety systems, chemical storage, material handling and emergency response equipment.
• Prepare reports and document non-compliant conditions, including safety hazards, and ensure countermeasures are implemented.
• Participate in emergency planning, safety drills and real-world emergency events as required.
• Collaborate with plant managers and supervisors to develop and review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), ensuring safe work practices.
• Oversee safety protocols for contractors working at the plant, ensuring they adhere to approved safety plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned to maintain a safe working environment.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required
• 3-5 years of experience in warehouse and/or manufacturing operations
• Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification preferred 
• OSHA 30 certification 
• Ability to develop and implement safety programs
• Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to conduct training
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Skills Required:

• Ability to formulate and present ideas and findings clearly and concisely orally and in writing
• Knowledge of related codes, laws, ordinances, rules and regulations
• An ability to effectively communicate and enforce safety regulations while maintaining positive relationships with management
• Skilled in conducting safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
