Description:

The Homologation Specialist (HS) engineer is responsible for supporting vehicle compliance at a system-level, working within both the global self-certification and Type Approval frameworks. The HS must understand regulations and processes, evaluate designs and create a certification plan. They assist product development teams with system-level coordination, including negotiations with Type Approval Authorities (governments).

This specific HS position is intended to focus on Electrification (including xEV and high voltage batteries along with EV Safety) for the US portfolio of vehicles. Depending on background skills, other related environmental topics like emissions or other safety items could be included.

Skills are expected to include abilities like building effective relationships, trust and transparency, working independently with internal and external partners, exercising sound judgment, good communication skills, driving to decisions, constant learning and managing multiple projects and deadlines.

 
Job Requirements
 

Requirements:

  • BS Engineering. Electrical and Mechanical preferred but other disciplines can be considered.
  • Some regulatory knowledge covering Electrical, Environmental or EV safety regulations - - and a desire to become an expert
  • Minimum THREE (3) years of engineering experience

    Preferred Requirements:

    Master of Science in Engineering
    Multidisciplinary automotive experience
    Exposure to international projects and teams
     

    Additional Must Haves:

    Some automotive background (other OEM interesting)
    Strong desire to Learn,
    Is or able to become technical leader,
    Ability to flex between strong-willed and collaborative postures depending on context or situation
    Location: CTC -currently 60% onsite, always risk of future change (90-100%)
    Driving a vehicle is required
    Travel: Rarely, maybe Witness test is Texas or Arizona ~ 1X per two years
