Job Description

The Project Engineer will be a key member of the Validation Engineering team, responsible for ensuring the efficient and on-time execution of automotive Electronic Control Unit (ECU) design validation (DV) plans for multiple products and programs.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive testing schedules for Design Verification (DV) and Validation activities, collaborating directly with Validation Engineering and cross-functional teams.

  • Proactively track status, issues, and risks associated with testing progress, ensuring that engineers are adhering to the plan and updating documentation.

  • Drive the resolution of schedule-impacting issues by employing strong communication and Proactive Problem Solving methodology.

  • Lead the effort to collect test reports and supporting documentation from responsible engineers to compile the final validation report package.

  • Report progress and status regularly in written form, presentations, and within project management tools

  • Be the validation schedule expert who supports all technical delivery and testing concerns related to project timing.

  • Track dependencies and hand-offs to and from partner organizations and teams

 
Job Requirements
 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or relevant experience.

  • 3+ years' experience in project coordination, management, or engineering support within a fast-paced environment, preferably in electronics testing.

  • Demonstrated expertise in scheduling practices and proficiency with project management tools, specifically JiraConfluence, and Smartsheets.

  • Strong data analysis & management skills with an ability to quickly identify and resolve scheduling bottlenecks.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with a cross-functional team and effectively manage project deliverables by collaborating with and influencing cross-functional departments.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; this role requires the ability to work closely with responsible engineers for updates, reports, and documentation to ensure organizational compliance and accurate status reporting.

  • The ability to work independently and demonstrate strong organizational skills in a dynamic environment with aggressive timelines.

  • Energy & curiosity to make things happen, seek out solutions.
