Job Description

We are currently seeking a Welding Engineer for our manufacturing plant in Marion, AR reporting directly to Assistant Manager of Welding Engineering. This individual will be responsible for eliminating waste of time, money, materials, person-hours, machine time, energy and other resources that do not generate value.


Key Responsibilities:

? Provide welding engineering support to production

? Knowledge of welding processes including GMAW and RSW of mild steel components

? Be a technical resource for other engineers, skilled trades and production teams

? Process validation experience with new equipment from concept to start-up

? Provide a safe work environment & follow all policies

? Coordinate guidance from internal/external customers to meet customer needs and/or perceptions

? Monitor welding equipment PM

? Perform inspections of welding processes and products

? Ability to troubleshoot shop floor weld, robotic, and assembly issues and quickly identify necessary countermeasures.

? Support and monitor robotic equipment (Hardware and software).

? Evaluate new developments in the welding and robotic field for possible application to current welding and robotic problems or production processes.

Skills Required:


Take appropriate action by monitoring production:

? Weld parameters and quality via Miller Continuum & Fanuc Robot

? Weld destructive test results

? Changes in weld consumable usage

? Provide plant floor troubleshooting, training and problem solving to root cause analysis

? Work with engineering & production teams for quality, warranty & cost improvement activities.


Education & Experience Requirements:

? Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering Technology, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with related welding experience.

? 0 - 3 years' experience. Automotive experience is desirable. TPS methods.

? Fanuc Robotics & CNC

? Vision: Cognex / Keyence

? Mitsubishi PLC

? Miller Pulse GMAW

? Solidworks or AutoCadd
