Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of maintenance processes. This role oversees personnel, materials, and equipment while providing technical support to manufacturing teams to achieve operational goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support all safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with workplace safety standards and housekeeping requirements
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Supervise maintenance and construction projects, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget
- Plan and execute preventive and planned maintenance activities
- Support operational goals related to Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost (SPQRC)
- Review shift handoffs, downtime data, and performance metrics to drive improvements
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance personnel and frontline leaders (typically 10-15 team members)
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical technicians to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and labor agreements (where applicable)
- Maintain schedules, quality standards, and production support requirements
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and improve performance
- Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
