Mechanical Training Developer
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Training Developer to support the development of technical training programs for industrial operations and maintenance personnel. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on mechanical knowledge who can work directly with technicians and field employees to create practical, real-world training materials and standardized training templates.
The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, rotating equipment, or operations environments and possess the ability to translate technical job tasks into clear, effective training content for frontline employees. Candidates should be comfortable interacting with field personnel, understanding day-to-day operational challenges, and developing training programs that support safe, efficient, and consistent work practices.
This position will focus on developing Instructor-Led Training (ILT), structured On-the-Job Training (OJT), hands-on learning materials, task-based training guides, and technical documentation for mechanical technicians and maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical training materials for mechanical technicians and maintenance personnel in an industrial operations environment
- Create lesson plans, training templates, structured OJT materials, hands-on exercises, and task-based learning documentation
- Work directly with field technicians, supervisors, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather operational and maintenance information
- Observe field activities and convert real-world mechanical tasks into practical training content
- Develop training materials focused on mechanical fundamentals, troubleshooting, maintenance procedures, and equipment operations
- Support the standardization of training processes and competency-based learning programs
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to validate technical accuracy and effectiveness of training materials
- Apply Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies and adult learning principles throughout the development process
- Travel occasionally to Midland, TX to gather field data, observe operations, and participate in meetings with SMEs
- Manage multiple assignments independently while meeting project timelines and quality standards
