We work nationwide on some of the most challenging, exciting construction and maintenance projects in the industrial sector.   We are currently hiring a skilled MOV Engineer for multiple positions in the US. Essential Functions of this position may include but are not limited to:
An MOV Engineer is responsible for thoroughly validating the functionality and performance of Motor Operated Valves (MOVs) in industrial settings, typically within power plants or nuclear facilities, by conducting comprehensive tests to ensure they meet safety and operational standards, often using specialized diagnostic tools and following strict procedures; requiring a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as experience with valve maintenance and testing practices. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Execution:
  • Develop detailed test plans based on engineering specifications, including functional, performance, and safety criteria, and detailed verification of diagnostic tests according to established procedures.
Data Analysis:
  • Analyze test results, identify anomalies, and generate reports detailing findings and recommendations for corrective actions. Ensure all testing activities adhere to relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality control procedures
Maintenance Support:
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot MOV issues during plant outages or routine maintenance activities. Up to and including the following:
    • Diagnostic Testing
    • Limit Switch Verification and Adjustment
    • Compliance Verification
 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
  • Strong understanding of MOV mechanics, Limit switch adjustments, electrical controls, and relevant safety protocols. Must have minimum of 5 years of actuator testing and analysis and has passed EPRI diagnostic testing qualification.
Diagnostic Skills:
  • Proficiency in using specialized MOV testing equipment and interpreting diagnostic data
Mechanical Aptitude:
  • Ability to perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks on MOVs
Electrical Knowledge:
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits and instrumentation used in valve control systems.
Quality Assurance:
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality control and documentation
Work Environment:
  • Primarily located in industrial settings like power plants or nuclear facilities 
  • May involve working in confined spaces, at heights, and in potentially hazardous environments 
  • Exposure to noise, heat, and vibrations

Job Requirements

 

Qualification, education, and experience requirements:
  • Prior experience (5 years) as an MOV diagnostic technician or similar role within a power generation or industrial facility 
  • Background in mechanical maintenance or related field 
  • Familiarity with nuclear power plant operations (preferred for nuclear facilities)
 
Successful candidates must possess the willingness and ability to complete and pass all pre-employment and employment screening requirements which may include but are not limited to: Practical skills, other medical, psychological (if required by site), background and substance abuse screening(s).
 
Physical Requirements
Lifting objects weighing 50 pounds to waist height and transporting a distance of 10 feet.  
 
Citizenship/ Work Authorization Requirements 
Must be a citizen of the US, its possessions or territories, or lawful permanent resident as defined by USC 1101(a)(20), or protected individual as defined by USC 1324b(a)(3)
