The Manager of Design and Engineering primary task is to lead the strategic direction of the department while working with the Technical Directors to ensure projects are being executed to code and are delivered on time, on budget in a customer focused model. S/he is responsible for improving the department’s effectiveness by incorporating new processes and standards that help the company run more efficiently. Technical expertise is also required to help solve problems and act as a mentor to the team.
Youwill be responsible for streamlining the overhead operations and standardizing processes across the department and will also act as a point of escalation for client and other project issues. This position requires excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – and must be able to communicate directly with design clients/architects, general contractors, and our own field staff as needed.

Job Requirements


The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (or equivalent work experience) and at least 10+ years’ experience in Design, with 3+ years’ experience in plumbing construction – preferably with multifamily projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Ability to lead and direct large teams
  • Dependable and responsible who can take direction and work with little supervision
  • Excellent communication and group presentation skills
