The manager of engineering is the group leader for several teams of design engineering and construction engineering professionals, who provides oversight to the assigned project teams that deliver all engineering deliverables for their assigned projects. The manager of engineering own the entire life cycle design engineering and construction engineering project and the correct on-time delivery of all applicable deliverables.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Lead and manage all Design Engineering and Construction Engineering Services work for the assigned projects
  • Manage to establish Engineering performance evaluation: correctly apply eligibility criteria for identifying client needs to provide services; exceed established performance metrics and the approved engineering  process; manage the applicable engineering performance metrics
  • Assume responsibility for special projects related to engineering services, the oversight of the assigned engineering programs related strategic initiatives
  • Evaluate proposals and determine the best internal source fitting the  selection criteria, price, quality, and service that is required
  • Lead activities in Engineering department as assigned, engineer process improvement whenever possible, and design compliance to regulatory or statutory requirements
  • Create a supportive environment for engineering staff development and the delivery of design engineering and construction engineering solutions
  • Raise and resolve engineering issues and improvement opportunities
  • Facilitate the standardization of products and optimize utilization through effective collaboration with construction project managers and experts
  • Collaborate with other managers in the creation and management of the engineering operating plan (EOP), identify and mitigate risks, monitor resource allocations to ensure successful execution of plan, and report results to upper management in a timely manner
  • Develop and implement plans for efficient use of materials, tools, and oversee the assignment, direction, and completion of all operation, distribution in accordance with established standard operating procedures and company objectives
  • Direct activities and evaluate all assigned engineering team members. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance of the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance advancements feedback and guidance; rewarding and disciplining employees and resolving problems
  • Provide leadership, guidance and strong problem solving skills that supports the company’s objectives, values, and beliefs. Demonstrate communication skills that promote a team environment and encourage their development as appropriate
  • Prioritize all workloads; respond to all requests from senior management. Encourage an organized, responsive team environment that supports the engineering departments’ internal and external customer

Job Requirements

 
Details:

REQUIRED:
 
  • BA/BS
  • 1-2 years’ experience with Business Analytics and Database Management
  • 10+ years of Design Engineering
  • 5+ years experience managing others
  • Multifamily Plumbing Experience
