Assembly is looking for a motivated problem solver who will partner with our Accounting and Human Resources organization to meet our objectives of partnering with providers and long-term care facilities nationwide for technology and provider services. Our Accounting Associate will keep track of payments and expenditures including invoices, expenses, etc. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent analytical skills with the ability to spot numerical errors. Ultimately, you will help us maintain efficient accounts payable processes that comply with all federal and state regulations.

What you will do:
  • Own all Accounts Payable activities
  • Enter invoices into the system weekly, use three-way match process to ensure accuracy
  • Pay vendors by reviewing bills for payment and scheduling bill payments once approved; generally responding to all vendor inquiries regarding finance; posting payments into INTACCT accounting software
  • Review weekly credit card activity; identify unusual activity or activity not in compliance with company policy
  • Review provider expense reimbursement reports to ensure in compliance with company policy
  • Report daily cash deposit activities and balances
  • Reconcile cash account balances and activities as part of month-end close
  • Work with the Staff Accountant and Assistant Controller regarding process improvement
  • Prepare analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
  • Assist with month-end close in relation to accounts payable, cash; over time, support other month-end close balances (e.g. prepaid expenses; fixed assets / depreciation; intangible assets amortization)
  • Process benefit costs, such as insurance fees and sick leaves
  • Manage payment calendars for the fiscal year
  • Other tasks and projects as needed
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
What it takes to join the family:
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role—previous healthcare experience is a big plus
  • Growth mindset – desire to expand accounting role and responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • The ability to work under tight deadlines
  • BS in Accounting or relevant field highly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with customer service focused aptitude and solution oriented
  • Detail-oriented individuals who are team players highly self-motivated

  • Fluent utilizing Excel (e.g. pivot tables; sumifs; vlookups; etc.)
