Work Planner- (Nuclear)
Location:   Waterford CT -  per diem available.   Non-exempt position
Duration- 10/12/2020 to -/+ 1 yr.
Candidates will need to have previous Uprate planning experience, which can only be gained at a nuclear power plant.
*Candidates must be able to pass background and drug screen*
This is for the Nuclear Power Station MUR Power Uprate and Electrical Generator Projects.  This will be a series of three major projects and several supporting projects.  The major projects include the following
  • Client 3 Measurement Uncertainty Recapture (MUR) Power Uprate
  • Client  3 Electrical Generator replacement
  • Client  2 Electrical Generator rotor replacement
The Work Planner is responsible for supporting project specific work control process, assisting with the development of work packages and ensuring generation of required plant work orders as required to support the project. Also responsible for work packages and work order performance.
1.  Review design engineering deliverable information for constructability, installation, maintainability, and material requirements using independent judgment and exercising discretion.
2.  Initiate Material Requests to support implementation of design changes using the approved BOM.
3.  Perform/coordinate field constructability walk-downs during the design development phase.
  1. Interface with all departments on site involved with the Project, to facilitate planning and scheduling of work activities.
  2. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


An ideal candidate will be able to successfully complete Radiation Worker Training. Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, be able to assemble and disassemble objects, and be able to operate small equipment and power tools.  Must be available for shift work, if needed.  Must be able to support other crafts as requested.  Ability to work at varying heights, cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or extreme cold, and loud (above 89 decibels) environments required. 
Proven ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior, integrity and trust.  Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of client technical manuals and procedures; to pass client specific training and qualifications as required; to work overtime, to include shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed; and be able to pass all background and screening requirements for the position, to include drug and/or alcohol screening.
Previous Uprate Planning Experience is required.       
  • Work schedules are expected to be 40 hours per week.  Contractors are to work schedules agreed to by the Project Manager. 
  • Typically it may be 4/10s, 5/8s or 9/9s (9 hour days Monday to Thursday and 8 hours Friday every other week). 
Start times each day are to be determined by the Project Manager.
