Responsible for generating accurate and timely monthly financial records for the business unit, comparison of actual results to budget, assist with preparation of the annual budget. Prepare operational data/analyses for publication to various constituents throughout company (Management, Operations, Project Management, Business Development) who rely on/benefit from the information to make informed business decisions.



  1. Prepare accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the T&D segment using independent judgment and discretion.
  2. Report to the business unit senior accountant the financial results of the business unit, along with any issues to be resolved in a proactive manner.
  3. Review records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts.
  4. Develop and implement appropriate and accurate financial records that support the monthly financial position and financial results, using the current technology tools.
  5. Ensure timely transactions processing for customer invoices, vendor invoices and payroll.
  6. Complete all month-end Close activities (e.g., record routine journal entries and allocations, prepare reconciliations, monthly reporting of results, analysis of differences from budget, non-standard JEs)
  7. Compare actual results to budget, with explanation of significant variances; assist with preparation of the annual budget for the business unit.
  8. Accurately record unbilled accounts receivable and fixed price contract and unit based monthly revenue.
  9. Meet all monthly deadlines for financial reporting and maintenance of accurate underlying financial records.
  10. Maintain subledgers (Fixed Assets, AP, A/R, materials)
  11. Prepare accurate and complete financial statement transactions and reporting
  12. Engage in critical and confidential aspects of accounting. 
  13. Work with confidential data, and maintain confidentiality of the sensitive data, which, if disclosed, might have significant negative impact on BHI Energy. Prepare ad-hoc reports when needed.
  14. Ensure compliance and execution of tasks in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensure functioning system Internal Controls over Financial Reporting consistent BHI policies and objectives.
  15. Adhere to process improvements and policy decisions implemented by Finance Leads
  16. Create forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel.
  17. Advise management on matters of fiscal procedure and importance for the organization.
  18. Assist with the preparation of materials and support of the annual audit with the external auditors, as necessary.
  19. Perform other required duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing.  The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and/or hands.  Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee will spend their time in an office environment as well as an industrial environment observing employees, their progress with assigned work, and interfacing with both employees and client employees with a moderate to high noise level.

Job Requirements



An ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance, with four (4) to eight (8) years of experience in an accounting related field (general ledger, monthly close, processing journal entries, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable, preparation of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) or a combination of education and experience. Strong planning, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills are also required. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral are required. Must be able to effectively work with a variety of personnel to include external customers and clients, and internal personnel.  Excellent computer skills, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time are required.  Excellent working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite software is required.  Must actively demonstrate the company values and support the ethics standards.   Proven ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior, integrity and trust.  Knowledge of BHI Energy processes and procedures and utilization of developed tools to most effectively manage work is essential.   Must actively demonstrate the BHI company values and support the BHI Ethics and Standards.  Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of BHI and client technical manuals and procedures; to pass BHI and client specific training and qualifications as required; subject to personnel call out as required in support of nuclear station emergent work requirements; to work overtime, to include shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed; and be able to pass all background and screening requirements for the position, to include drug and/or alcohol screening.
