The Director of Operations – Valve and ICE Services primary function is ensuring that BHI Energy/WEC provides stakeholder management of assigned clients (Nuclear and Non- Nuclear) for safe, quality effective and profitable valve and ICE maintenance services. Other functions and responsibilities that can be expected from this position include but are not limited to: 

 

  • Responsible for building and maintaining positive relations with client executive and plant management - ensuring client needs are met including project milestones, performance (safety, quality, human performance), production (schedule, productivity metrics), financial and fiscal responsibilities. 
  • Ensure business unit goals are met including performance metrics, budgets, financial forecasts and business growth. Deliver safe, quality and profitable projects that meet or exceed plans.
  • Ensure successful planning and execution of assigned projects including project planning, scope assessment, readiness, safety, quality, financial, human performance and human resource implementation deployment. 
  • Remain visible, available and approachable to BHI Energy employees supporting assigned operational projects and lead by example with regards to expected positive behaviors, field observations, corrective actions and coaching.
  • Support and foster a safety conscious work environment where all employees understand reporting options and opportunities for safety and work related concerns. Take proactive steps to coach individuals and address corrective actions in collaboration with BHI executive management and human resource staff.
  • Responsible for oversight of operations within the assigned area inclusive of project staffing assignments, technical and leadership training, human performance, quality and safety. 
  • Conduct periodic and scheduled reviews of procedures, protocols and processes in an effort to identify improvement opportunities within the operation that will benefit BHI Energy and our client. 
  • Exemplify a bias for action and drive for results. Communicate plans, project status and issues in a proactive manner and develop effective counter measures to recover projects when challenged.
  • Prepare and execute effective presentations, project plans, and outage reporting and executive summaries including analyses of safety, quality, human performance, productivity and corrective actions.
  • Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with peers, executive management and other BHI departments to support teamwork and achievement of results that are positive for the overall BHI business.
  • Ensure that conduct of operations meet all regulatory, government, client and BHI guidelines and requirements.

 
Job Requirements

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 4-year engineering or business management degree (preferred) or equivalent experience 
  • Power Plant Knowledge (Nuclear SRO preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Maintenance management experience in power generation, industrial or marine industries
  • Previous management role for power generation, marine or industrial services
  • Experience with organized trade unions and labor management for exempt and non-exempt work forces
  • Be able to travel on a weekly / frequent basis as necessary to support BHI/WEC and client needs. When necessary, maintain a presence at client sites for extended periods of time in support of outages, including assignment as a leader for complete outage time frames.
