To be considered for this position candidates must have:
  • A Ph.D. degree in Ruminant Nutrition (or Animal Sciences), or DVM
  • A practical background in dairy cattle, silage/forage management and
  • production.
  • The ability to overnight travel - dependent on location

Job Description

Position: Technical Services Nutr. / Forage Specialist

Business: LANNA        Reports to: R&D and Tech. Serv. Director


1. Provides technical support to field sales staff:

    Develops and delivers product training presentations for Lallemand, distributor sales staff and end users (farmers, ranchers), covering all aspects of forage products and Direct fed Microbial products, and their role Dairy Cattle Production.

Work closely with Territory Sales managers to help achieve sales goals and objectives.  

    Works with Lallemand and distributor sales staff on farm calls to provide relevant management advice and how Lallemand products can be used in specific applications to achieve target results. He/She may also provide high level trouble-shooting, product complaints, to determine probable causes and provide feedback to customers, including recommendations for future management improvements.

2. Forage Products and DFM field research activities:

    Work with Lallemand Product Managers to help develop protocols for research trials. Once these are approved, manage and monitor trials with Universities and other collaborators.
3. Technical support to marketing:

    Works with her/his supervisor and Marketing staff to provide technical content for marketing materials.

    Reviews all marketing materials for technical accuracy, including microbial and enzyme nomenclature, conformance with international standards, application and dosing directions, product activity levels, etc.

4. Other related activities as assigned.

Position requirements:

Ph.D. degree in Ruminant Nutrition (or Animal Sciences), or DVM. With strong large animal expertise, or closely related discipline, including field experience in forage production, feed industry and Dairy cattle operations.

Ideally candidate will have a practical background in dairy cattle, silage/forage management and production.
