Manages operational functions to include the Direct Portfolio, Finance and ISO Relationships. Encourages the growth, performance, and profitability of the Merchant Services department and all related services. Stays abreast with the product landscape and industry changes as it relates to business products and services. Manages the development and implementation of new services that achieve the goal of client acquisition, and retention. Staff and resource management. Excellence with third party, vendor and partner relations. Measurable successes of growth, retention and stabilization in all areas.

Specific Job Functions:

• Plans and directs the daily operation of the merchant services department
• Effectively manage the supervision & development team members
• Develops and executes plans to enhance current services, or create new services, in order to increase non-interest income
• Continually assesses business product lines and ability to meet market needs
• Identifies and monitors competing products, pricing and customer retention
• Works with regional Business Development Officers to provide the tools necessary to compete and win new business
• Monitor the industry, and look for opportunities for growth or improvement
• Evaluates effectiveness for marketing strategies and tactics, recommends adjustments to achieve desired results
• Responsible for supervising day to day functions of Payment Division.
• Oversees and assists with the ongoing review of merchant portfolios across entire department.
• Oversees implementation of new relationships.
• Assists with Card Association reporting requirements.
• Approves monthly billing invoices and monitors income.
• Monitors reserve accounts to ensure required minimum balance is maintained.
• Works as a support liaison between Bank, ISO and Card Brands.
• Ensures merchant complaints received from the Card Associations are followed through to resolution in a timely manner.
• Ensures all procedures are documented, up to date and stored appropriately.
• Assists with annual audit reports.
• Performs general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, and filing.
• Supports staff in assigned project based work.
• Assists management with special projects.
• Supports Managing Director as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Five or more years of Payment Industry and Merchant Services experience required.
• Ability to successfully manage, motivate, and develop team members
• Proven network of Payment Industry relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
• Aptitude to learn new software programs and job functions.
• Comfortable with public speaking.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening, and oral communication skills
• Excellent written communications and presentation skills
• Analytical, problem solving skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy, very effective organizational skills
• Advanced computer skills
• Ability to interact & collaborate with others in the company as a team player
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook and Word.
• Extensive Excel experience with proven ability to perform advanced formulas.
• Ability to lift 50lb boxes to assist with inventory control
