Kleinfelder is currently seeking an experienced Project Manage to join our team in Tampa, FL 
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects; including scheduling resources, developing/managing budgets, and managing client relations.  While this position is for a project manager, the candidate should be prepared to also participate in field assessments and prepare associated reports for a variety of ecological projects in the natural resources sector.   Typically field projects will include wetland delineations and evaluations, monitoring of wetland reclamation and mitigation sites, protected species surveys, and wildlife relocations.   This position requires solid technical writing and verbal communication skills. 
 
The chosen candidate will work in tandem with a diversity of technical subject matter experts to successfully execute on projects that support a growing portfolio in the energy and surface mining market throughout the Southeastern US.  Strong preference may be given to candidates having a consulting background, with task and or project management experience.
 
Minimum requirements include:
  • BS in Environmental, Biological or Ecological Science (MS is preferred, not required)
  • At least 10 years of experience as a natural resources professional
  • Ability to produce field reports to support local, state and federal permit applications (Section 401, 404 CWA permits)
  • Strong time management, problem solving, communication, organizational skills, relevant computer/software experience, and comfortable/proficient interfacing with clients and regulatory agencies
  • The ability to travel, locally and throughout the Southeastern US is required
Candidates should have a strong knowledge of the regulatory framework and experience working with a multidisciplinary team successfully preparing and negotiating permits through the State of Florida’s water management districts, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  In addition, the candidate should have experience with the land use entitlement process through local municipalities.  This experience should have a strong foundation of knowledge in Florida ecosystems and natural resources.         
 
Potential candidates should be able to work effectively both in team environments and with limited supervision. Candidates should have availability to work outside of typical business hours.  This position is anticipated to be 30% local-regional field work / 70% office work.
