Kleinfelder's Morrisville (Raleigh) NC office is seeking a technician/inspector to join our team.
Our technicians/inspectors perform routine field and laboratory tests and inspections for purpose of verifying conformance to construction plans and specifications. A successful candidate must be able to follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.
Additionally, the candidate must be capable of clear and concise verbal and written communications (i.e. preparing daily reports and data sheets), have the ability to operate with close to moderate supervision and may be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of the supervisor.
The position would primarily serve as a field technician/inspector on large, vertical construction projects.
- prepare designs, reports and calculations for complex projects
- perform routine, well-defined, field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and analysis under direct supervision
- conduct field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support under supervision
- write detailed field reports, internal correspondence and sections of formal reports and proposals
- coordinate small projects with on-going review and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
Personnel with ICC Special Inspection certifications in Concrete, Masonry, Fireproofing, Steel, Pre-stressed Concrete, etc. are very highly preferred. Personnel will be required to maintain required certifications current. Additional certification training is available and highly encouraged.
One (1) to five (5) years’ experience in Construction Materials Engineering & Testing and Special Inspections, including applicable licenses and certifications.
Preference will be given to those with a background in vertical construction with emphasis on soil and concrete field testing experience.
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. The ideal candidate will have a strong, technical background, the ability to provide technical support on projects with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
