 Life Care Animal Hospital is actively seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team!
$1,000.00 Sign On Bonus for qualified candidates! 

Shift Details: Four Days On, Rotational Saturdays!
Our Location: 1328 White Bear Ave, St Paul, MN 55106
Life Care Animal Hospital has been serving the greater St. Paul community since 1995. We are a multi-doctor practice offering a variety of services including diagnostic services, vaccinations, digital x-rays, spay and neuter surgeries, specialty animal surgery, pet dentistry and oral surgery, and much more. Along with that we also offer nutritional counseling and weight management services. We are proud to work with rescue organizations like Second Chance Animal Rescue, Cause For Paws, and Pooches United with People. How you will make a positive impact:
  • Provide outstanding patient care in tandem with other medical professionals.
  • Be proficient in a variety of technical skills ranging from but not limited to: laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery and dentistry.
  • Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in patient files. Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients.
  • Schedule appointments, take payments and check-in clients. Answer practice phone lines.
  • Participate in any special cleaning duties and equipment maintenance as directed.
  • Support a work environment and culture that values critical thinking, problem solving, engagement, inclusion and diversity at all levels.
Ideal Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of technician experience required.
  • Surgery tech experience.
  • Competency in lab tech skills such as but not limited to performing in house urinalysis accurately, blood differentials, fecal floats and cytology’s.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and lift over 50 pounds with the assistance of a coworker. Requires sufficient ambulatory skills.
  • Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.
  • Employee is routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and various medications/controlled substances.
  • Fluent in excellent written and verbal skills necessary to perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of a Certified Veterinary Technician. Must be able to exchange timely, and accurate information with all clients and team members.
