Spinnaker has recently been exclusively engaged to identify a Project Manager to join a growing team for a client of ours in King of Prussia, PA. This position will be part of the Enterprise Applications team and will serve as the sole Project Manager reporting to the Director of Application Development.  The Project Manager will be a critical component for the organization and wear many hats serving as the liaison between the business and the IT team.  This role will be responsible for gathering requirements from internal stakeholders for application modifications and new feature development, facilitating the daily and weekly developer standup meetings, creating and maintaining the project portfolio and communicating timelines and status updates to stakeholders including the C-level executives, and proactively identifying process improvement opportunities.  This is a highly visible role on the IT team and will provide opportunity to collaborate with just about every other department in the organization.  

Responsibilities:
  • Interface with business units to be aware of upcoming projects through regular communication with internal customers.
  • Write specification documents for features and functionality for stakeholder approval and internal fulfillment.
  • Drive teams to execute and deliver: development roadmaps, project plans, project and iteration estimates, technical documentation, deliverable lists, project management process methodology, project budgets and forecasting, and the overall deployment of projects and releases.
  • Facilitate good communication within the necessary teams.  Follow up to ensure goals are met through encouragement and constructive feedback and provide direction when needed.
  • Assess the project and team needs in order to adjust resource plans as needed. 
  • Troubleshoot project issues and engage the appropriate resources as needed.
  • Escalate any significant issues to the appropriate management team as needed.
  • Identify project pitfalls/set-backs early so that management has time to react and proactively deal with potential client concerns.
  • Document and track project risks proactively and create mitigation plans for serious risks.
  • Negotiate issues resolution in a matrix management environment with multiple priorities.
  • Actively prioritize team workload to ensure quality results are delivered on time within budget.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining project management standards.
  • Foster “customer-centric” attitude within the department, promoting positive agency and team atmosphere through all interactions.
  • Exercise foresight and judgment in making complex decisions. Able to act independently with good judgment, when needed.
  • Attend and participate in other related IT meetings that support the collaboration between IT and business partners. 

 
Job Requirements

 

Background: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in MIS, CompSci, Business Management or related field is desired, with at least 3 years experience successfully leading complex cross functional projects.
  • High level understanding of Enterprise Application frameworks, SDLC process, and Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with requirements gathering process and business analysis work.
  • Understanding of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and experience coordinating that process is desired.
  • Experience in building and growing teams in a collaborative and team environment.
  • Experience presenting to and working with senior management.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills required.
  • Excellent facilitation skills are required to drive resolution of complex business and technical problems.
  • The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of managing multiple, complex tasks and able to work with several groups at once.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have strong problem-solving and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to manage projects with evolving priorities and deadlines. 
  • Experience managing both internal resources and external contractors/vendors.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time with client satisfaction.
