A client of ours headquartered in the Malvern, PA area has engaged us on a search to identify a DevOps System Administrator to join their IT Infrastructure team.  This position will be responsible for building and maintaining a new container environment (Dev and Prod), helping maintain the existing Linux software development environment, working with the Development Infrastructure Team to implement new projects and architecture upgrades to help enhance the development environment and deploying, supporting and maintaining software for customers.  The focus will be maintaining existing systems while working to use Google’s Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methodology, as well as streamline new deployments and processes with a DevOps focus.  

Responsibilities:
  • Automate tasks through scripting technologies
  • Maintain the existing Linux development environments
  • Support and work with the software development teams
  • Build and maintain the Development and Production container environment
  • Perform server maintenance
  • Test and apply OS, software, & hardware patches and security upgrades
  • Ensure proper uniformity, documentation, and configuration control of servers

 
Job Requirements

 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in IS or equivalent.  5+ years of experience in a System Administrator or System Engineer position in an enterprise Linux environment
  • 2+ years in a devops/SRE capacity supporting development teams and setting up containerization
  • Competent in managing Linux Servers (CentOS/RHEL preferred)
  • Able to write custom and complex scripts, as well as maintain existing scripts (Python and bash preferred) 
  • Competent in managing, developing, and using deployment automation tools (Ansible preferred)
  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Competent in managing 3rd party repositories (Artifactory preferred)
  • Experience working in a software development organization (Agile preferred)
  • Full IT Infrastructure stack understanding for troubleshooting (network, storage, etc.)
  • Able to document work performed for cross pollination and repeatability.
  • Able to present problems and challenges for the area of responsibility.
  • Motivated and energetic team player.
  • Able to work independently and own tasks to completion.
  • US Citizenship required.
