Newly created (full-time) opening with a growing privately-owned company in the local area!
The hired professional will work closely with the CEO, General Manager, and Operations Director on all aspects of the company’s financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.  Responsibilities will also include financial risk management.
  • Manage and oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances by collecting, analyzing financial data and recommending plans
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and P&L reports
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Supervises all accounting staff to include recruiting, selecting, orienting and training
  • Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
  • Additional controller duties as necessary and assigned

Job Requirements


  • Undergraduate or master’s degree in Business/Accounting/Finance preferred.

  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks is desired as well as with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.

  • Willingness to wear a lot of hats, ranging from clerical to strategic

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and organization are critical.

  • CPA or CMA preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

  • Experience with creating financial statements, managing processes and analyzing information

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
