We have been exclusively retained to identify a Product Owner/Project Coordinator for a long-standing client of ours based in the Philadelphia Area.  The company provides custom digital solutions for enterprise clients ranging from software/web design and development to specialized IT system support.  Despite having broad ranging capabilities, they do have a niche focus around Digital Accessibility and Inclusive web design/development.  They work with Digital Agencies as well as major corporations to deliver fully responsive and fully accessible digital solutions in a collaborative and consultative manner.  

This Product Owner / Project Coordinator position is a critical hire for the team as they will be responsible for the success of multiple long-term digital, web, and web-based applications for their largest client account.  Representing and prioritizing the business value needs of this enterprise-level client to the internal development team, while effectively communicating and educating the client, in turn, places the Product Owner/ Project Coordinator as the point person for the client services digital team. This is an agile work environment and you will collaborate closely with developers, the QA team, and other members of the client services team.  They follow SCRUM methodology and utilize Kanban, so there is daily participation in the stand-up and refinement meetings.  It really is a self-organizing team and there are a lot of cross-training and continued education opportunities for everyone on the team, particularly towards Accessibility.  

Overall, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that is focused on investing in their people and providing the education and tools needed for you to grow in your career within their company.  This is a Philadelphia-based team, though everyone is now working remotely due to COVID.  Moving forward (post COVID), they are going to make remote work a permanent option for their team.  That said, it would be ideal for this person to be based in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate internal and external client conversations among stakeholders, end-users, and the team to maintain and prioritize business value in any product and to effectively manage elements of projects all the way to deployment and delivery.
  • Develop a strong understanding of what clients really need and offer thoughtful solutions
  • Act as the client’s advocate to the team representing their interests while also informing and educating back from the team to the client as needed
  • Creating exceptional customer experiences through team collaboration, problem-solving skills, decision-making abilities, and a detail-oriented work ethic

 
Job Requirements

 

Background:
  • 2+ years of experience working with digital / web development teams in some sort of a Business Analyst, Project Coordinator, Product Owner, Account Coordinator type role which involved liaising between clients/customers and internal development teams to deliver digital solutions to further business objectives.  Experience working at a digital design agency is highly desired.
  • Ability to prioritize the highest business value to guide with the continuous and iterative process
  • Strong understanding of technical vocabulary (digital and web development) and an ability to translate technical specifications into common language and vice versa.
  • Demonstrable experience in an agile environment
  • Knowledge of basic time management practices in a digital agency environment, including, Gantt charts, resource allocation, and project budgeting
  • UI/UX exposure and comfort with basic design and development procedure.  Solid understanding of Usability.

  • Focused on constant improvement and development by seeking out continued education opportunities in your field, having a network for contacts, and/or participating in meetups or user groups
  • Self-awareness to play to your strengths and be fearless about tackling your shortcomings
