Our client is looking for a highly skilled Security Engineer III. This is a Contract HYBRID position. This employer is in hospitality industry and hosts a number of properties in Las Vegas, NV.
Successful candidates excel and experienced:
As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll play a key role in strengthening enterprise security by leading the evaluation, deployment, and fine-tuning of modern security tools and protocols. This position focuses heavily on safeguarding both on-premises and cloud environments while ensuring alignment with overall risk management strategies.
You'll be hands-on with security architecture design, including the hardening of systems, networks, and databases. Responsibilities may include assessing vulnerabilities across web applications and infrastructure, guiding secure development practices, monitoring logs for unusual activity, and ensuring recovery strategies are in place and assessed.
You'll manage security-focused initiatives from end to end, often operating independently, and providing mentorship to junior team members. The work involves solving complex security challenges that require both technical depth and strategic thinking.
Job Requirements
Your previous experience includes:
- High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT security roles, with a strong background in threat mitigation and infrastructure hardening
- At least 3 years of focused experience in cloud environments, preferably across AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Proven experience managing and tuning SIEM tools
- Proficient in endpoint protection and email security platforms
- Skilled in leading security incident response and drafting post-incident reports
- Advanced understanding of cyber threats, phishing tactics, network protocols, and response strategies
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent is highly desirable

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift:
- 50 lbs. to waist and shoulder height
- 20 lbs. overhead
Rate: $50-60 per hour, M-F, with two days onsite, mandatory.
