Basic Job Functions:
Use structural engineering principles and our proprietary software to design steel joists and joist girders to ensure safety of
the public
Collaborate with Project Manager, Production Coordinator, and others to ensure on-time delivery of products
Provide internal and external customers with engineering judgements and decisions
Give Detailers guidance to produce field-use drawings that reflect the design team's intent
Proactively encourage architects and engineers to specify our products with confidence
Promote our products by being involved in business development activities such as direct engagement with industry
professionals, delivering lunch-and-learn presentations, and being an exhibitor at trade shows
Continuously develop yourself and invest in others to make the Division more effective
Willing and able to travel occasionally for business purposes
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate,
lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline (from an ABET or CEAB-accredited engineering
program), or licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with related design experience
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam by start date
Commitment and ability to obtain a professional engineering license, if not already licensed, when appropriate experience is
gained
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree with emphasis in Structures
Licensed Professional Engineer or Professional Structural Engineer (SE)
