Our client a small company that specializes in developing software-driven technology and printing solutions for high-growth markets including food service, casino and gaming, and POS automation.
Basic Function:
This position is responsible for effectively directing quality assurance efforts to ensure that our clients products conform to quality standards and business processes continually improve.
Nature and Scope:
Reporting directly to the quality director, is responsible for completing all aspects of supplier quality, including new product development, serial production management, systems implementation, direct supplier interface, and supplier metrics. Responsibilities also include supporting the Quality Management System through process and systems development and monitoring. It also includes driving continuous improvement in the business processes and clarifying key metrics.
Essential Functions:
- Leadership for upgrade and implementation of corporate and site-specific quality systems that makes the quality system the operating system.
- Support new product introduction by integrating key quality, operations, and supplier functions into a gated review process to drive successful product launches.
- Support new product introduction by identifying and managing high risk new components and processes.
- Effectively manage the inspection system (incoming, in-process, final test and out of box audit) of parts/materials, defect detection, and prompt disposition of rejected materials.
- Champions a system of regular metric review for the supply base.
- Supports assigned operations group.
- Champions supplier corrective actions.
- Train the organization and suppliers in the supplier and internal quality systems.
- Support rollout of upgraded Supplier Quality Manual.
- Perform internal audits.
- Assist manufacturing engineers in construction of printer specific quality/control plans
- Assists with quality issues that may arise with customers and drive customer focus into the organization.
- Supports all lean implementation projects as required.
- Work to continually analyze and improve the work of their group.
- Able to demonstrate the highest level of quality ownership.
- Manages the department in the absence of the Quality Director.
- Regular attendance at work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS in a technical field.
- 3-5 years of applicable quality experience; with a preferred background in electromechanical assemblies and components.
- Experience working with ISO 9001 registration in a process mapping system.
- ASQ- CQE or SSBB desired.
- Able to demonstrate expert level qualifications of functional.
- Demonstrated track record of results in meeting project objectives and sustained results.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently and use the skills of influence to accomplish objectives.
- Able to multitask and still meet timing and objectives.
- Demonstrated agent of change for the continuous improvement process.
- Previous supervisory experience of technician and engineering level resources.
- Ability to travel internationally.
